Quote Me On It!

Here’s a selection of quotes, from Super Power and Super Power: Infinite. These are spoiler-free, so do quote me on it!

“Some people say he was a god, others say he was only a man.” (referring to Yetsva, ‘founder’ of the Siron religion, Yetsvera, Episode 18)

“It’s said that loves unites us. It brings us together, helps us to be friends despite our differences. When we work together, it doesn’t matter what we look like or what we believe, because we’re working towards a common goal. Each of us hopes that one day we’ll meet the person of our dreams, a person we were meant to be with, a person who’ll love us unconditionally. Some of us are lucky enough to find that person, everyone else wanders through life bitter and jaded, feeling like life’s treating them unfairly. Sometimes we only get one chance to find love, and if we don’t take it, we may never find someone who’s just right for us. Some say love is about creating good vibrations, but I know from experience that there’s more to it than just having someone to share your experiences. It’s having someone who believes in you. It’s having someone who trusts you. It’s having someone who treats you in a special way, in a way no one else treats you. It’s all those things and more. So it makes sense for the strength of our bonds to be put to the test, to not just affirm our own convictions, but to prove our devotion for the benefit of others – a higher power, angels, whoever it may concern. Once a person knows true love – one that lasts for all time – all anger, all sorrow, all hatred, are washed away, like stains on our favourite clothes. And…you learn things about yourself you never knew, you can see something from someone else’s perspective, and they can see your perspective. It’s true what they say about love shared being multiplied, and once you’ve experienced it for yourself, you wonder how you were ever able to be negative when you feel more positive than you ever thought was possible. The power of positive thinking truly is amazing…” (Special #3)

“Such a term is paradoxically flawed. Many use that term without knowing what it truly means. Those who call themselves ‘gods’ are not all-powerful, only one would qualify for the title of ‘supreme being’, though some would seek to lay claim to it. Do you wish to know the punchline? The greatest paradox is existence itself. A paradox without an answer…” (Infinite, Episode 45)

“Through the darkness comes the light. It is easy for one to take that which is good for granted and to think darkness is without purpose. There is nothing that exists without purpose. But I do not say that one cannot appreciate the light without the darkness – one must not seek adversity, but appreciate the good that can come of it.” (Infinite,  origin of quote is a secret!)

Here’s a poem I wrote for an exhibition in Adelaide in 2011, called “Ascent of the Soul”:

The time has come to make haste

I feel my brain is going to waste

Once I felt things weren’t so hard

Now I feel my mind begin to retard

This world in its glory, only an illusion

Life in itself the author of confusion

Born with little knowledge, die with little more

When your last moment arrives you can never be sure

One thing is certain, the mind is not free

Many seem wise but few truly see

When your life ceases, another life awaits

You can try to escape, but you cannot fight fate

Away from this world, some time to reflect

Step by step, become closer to perfect

Higher and higher, the soul climbs towards God

With a new perspective, this lifetime seems odd

Death is feared when clinging onto life

It is this attachment which causes our soul strife

In the blinking of an eye, released from bondage

It is usually true death comes at a fond age

Whether or not you see a different point of view

Believe it or not it depends on you
